INEE, in collaboration with Mercy Corps and Japan Platform, invites you participate in a five-day training of trainers (TOT) workshop in Washington, DC, February 29 – March 4 2016.
The main objective of the training of trainers (TOT) is to build capacity for emergency response, preparedness, and INEE Minimum Standards. As a TOT, this workshop will provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to organize and deliver a dissemination training themselves.
The training, held in collaboration with Japan Platform, will comprise of a three-day overview of core education in emergencies and INEE Minimum Standards technical content drawing from the INEE-Education Cluster Education in Emergencies Training Package. The last two days will be focus on training of trainers content, including capacity development methods and training tips.
This training will be led by education in emergencies experts and INEE Minimum Standards trainers.
The INEE TOT is free of charge and lunch will be provided during the training. Participants are expected to cover any associated travel, accommodation, and additional meal expenses.
Representatives of NGOs or UN agencies working in education in emergencies or a related humanitarian sector are strongly encouraged to apply. Training is open to others, including students, donors, policy makers and other educationalists. Participants must agree to remain in the training for the complete 5 days.
The groups targeted for participation in the training will include Japanese participants selected by Japan Platform along with US and internationally based participants selected by INEE. The language of instruction will be English.
