February 2012 is INEE Meet-up Month

INEE is pleased to announce February 2012 as INEE Meet-up month! Building on the success and popularity of the first INEE Global Meet-up event in 2011 we are planning two Meet-up periods in 2012 – February and October.

Although we will retain the loose and informal structure of the 2011 Meet-up event, the 2012 Meet-ups will each have a theme, around which related activities can take place. The February 2012 INEE Meet-up theme is “Protection in education in emergencies.”

	Call for volunteers

We would like to invite you to take the initiative to volunteer to be a Meet-up organizer in your location. No experience necessary! As a Meet-up organizer you will coordinate logistics, invite colleagues and friends to your event, and provide feedback to the INEE Secretariat via email to meetup@ineesite.org.

To get going on organizing your event, you can start thinking about and discussing with your colleagues the date, time and location where you would like to hold your February 2012 INEE Meet-up event. INEE will provide facilitation guidance and discussion point suggestions, and we will publicize the details of your event on our website. We will also provide thematically-based reading material and questions to kick off your discussion on protection, if you decide your Meet-up will focus on that theme.

To volunteer as a Meet-up organizer, please write to meetup@ineesite.org and provide the following information: name, organization you are affiliated with, city/country location and contact information. Volunteer instructions are available in: English, español, français.

When: Any time between 1-29 February 2012

Where: INEE Meet-up events can take place in any location around the world. Events will take place everywhere there is a volunteer to organize them.
