The bulk of the three days of the INEE Global Consultation will consist of a series of concurrent workshops that build upon issues raised in the opening plenary panels on bridging gaps between preparedness, relief and development, including the issues of the financing and implementation of the INEE Minimum Standards.

The format of these workshops will vary by topic to best suit and meet their specific objectives. Possible workshop formats include panel presentations of research or case studies, roundtable discussions, mini-trainings, task-driven activities, etc. Workshop sessions will be one of two lengths:

1) Learning Session: A 1 hour 45 minute (105 minutes) briefing session consisting of an introduction to a topic through a presentation and discussion. Example: Panel presentation of good practice on child friendly spaces. Example: Lessons learnt from home schooling programmes in Afghanistan and Iraq.

2) Working Session: A 3 hour 30 minute (210 minutes) working session consisting of in-depth orientation on an issue and a mini-training and/or a task-oriented activity focused on working together toward a specific outcome or deliverable. Example: In depth orientation to the issue of teacher compensation and a training on using the INEE Teacher Compensation Guidance Notes. Example: In depth orientation to inclusive education and editing a draft Inclusive Education Good Practice Guide.

In plenary on the afternoon of the final day of the INEE Global Consultation, INEE will facilitate a conversation between different stakeholders (i.e. Donor, Ministry of Education, UN, NGO, Youth) in order to synthesize the principle messages, recommendations and ways forward that emerged during the concurrent workshop sessions. INEE will create a brief Outcome Report for circulation and will post all related documentation from the consultation (e.g. presentation materials, handouts, recommendations) on the INEE website.
