In addition, the hosts of this consultation are confirming the participation of additional delegates from GTZ in Sri Lanka, UNESCO in Muzaffarabad Azad Kashmir, UNICEF in the Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) and the Disaster Management Institute in India. This was an extremely difficult selection process, as there were many more qualified candidates than the training has spaces for. We hope that all INEE members will give these participants your full support and encouragement.
One of the requirements for each trainer participating in this TOT is to conduct a minimum of 2 local, national or regional trainings in education and emergency work in the 12 months after they have been trained by INEE. For applicants not selected and other interested INEE members, we encourage you to contact the participants in your area about participating in their future trainings after the INEE TOT.
This TOT is the third in a series of several regional Training of Trainers workshops on the Minimum Standards that will be carried out around the world during the first half of 2006; others are planned for Anglophone Africa, Francophone Africa, Southeast Asia & the Pacific, Latin America, The Caribbean, The Middle East and North Africa, North America and Europe. The goal of the INEE Training of Trainers process is to create a cadre of trainers based in regional capitals who will use training and other organizational and individual learning strategies to institutionalize the Minimum Standards within their agencies and partner organizations, thus strengthening the capacity of global, regional, national and local level education in emergency workers and networks.
