INEE Tools Launch - Bangkok, Thailand
The regional launch in Bangkok, Thailand on July 12, 2010 brought together over 45 participants attending from different including from UN agencies, NGOs, donor agencies and the Ministry of Education in Thailand. This event was co-hosted by UNESCO Bangkok and UNICEF APSSC.
Participants celebrated the release of four major tools focused on improved educational preparedness, response and recovery, and actively engaged in a one day interactive event, which included:
- An official launch and overview of four new inter-agency tools;
- A choice of four orientation workshops on the new tools;
- Discussion of next steps for improved educational preparedness, response and recovery;
- Opportunities to interact and network with regional education in emergencies actors;
- An introduction to INEE, a global open community with a vast range of resources and collaborative initiatives to be explored.
The four new tools launched were:
- INEE Minimum Standards for Education: Preparedness, Response, Recovery
- INEE Guidance Notes on Teaching and Learning
- INEE Reference Guide to External Education Financing
- INEE Pocket Guide to Gender
