WOW!!  and CONGRATULATIONS!  I do remember the Geneva kick-off meeting and am please that I was able to help with the development of INEE over the past ten years if not the actual writing of the Standards. It was amazing to go from the launch of the Standards in Cape Town to seeing them in use a few weeks later in Aceh, and shortly in Bahasa.

Hello !

With INEE, I had been the happiest man as my DRC-based organisation called “Artists for Humanity” - ArtHum - was the first one in DR Congo to join this network and I was the first person coming from DR Congo to be part of INEE events, specifically when I attended its 2nd Global Conference held in Cape Town in 2004.

I continued sharing ideas and experience and research results through diverse INEE groupings, I also participated in different survey in order to contribute for the advancement of INEE and making about change within communities through education.

Unfortunately, I am feeling to the “left apart person” of INEE history so far. One may think that this is by destiny, but it is actualy a fact of “buffer” system I am victim from. I have been working under volunteering realities since the 90’s within communities in a conflict setting of DR Congo, but “powerful” international organisations which came in profited from our experience and skills to abusively exploit us and take us out from our local organisation to finally drop us out of all promoting systems. They brought their so called “experts” and prefered to appointed other people locally as well, even with no required background, for their own reason of interest or whaterver. Even while being members of INEE and running INEE-related training courses, those organisation could even not be able or willing to let us participate or profit from those opportunities as members of INEE too.

The 10th anniversary of INEE is a very good event for us as we also have a civic duty to express our wish, but we have just experienced a sad decade of INEE from our side, considering how we, as INEE members and human resources, have been treated by those who had the mandate of helping us build on our capacity individually and strengthen our organisations in the field.

Bonjour à tous,

Avec l’INEE, je suis l’homme le plus heureux et mon Organisation qui est basée en RDC à Kinshasa “Jeunes et Femmes pour les Droits de l’Homme et la Paix"JFDHOP en sigle est benie. Nous sommes membre de cette institution dépuis l’année passée notre travail évolue trés bien malgré les difficultés.
Nous continuons de partager des idées et des résultats d’expériences et de la recherche grâce à des groupes INEE nous contribuons à donner des idées pour le changement au sein des communautés par l’éducation et l’amelioration de travail de l’INEE.
Le 10e anniversaire de l’INEE est un événement très bon pour nous parceque nous venons ausi de terminer avec le programme de la décenie Internationale de l’ONU pour la culture de la paix et de la non-violence au profit des enfants du monde 2001-2010.C’est un devoir pour nous d’ exprimer notre souhait, avec cette décennie de l’INEE,  notre organisation était richement bénie avec le manuel de l’INEE, nous avons participé dans les activités de l’INEE comme membre en lignejusqu’à présent nous n’avons rien à reprocher à cette institution dont nous sommes membre dépuis l’année passée. Nous voulons qu’elle soit présente sur terrain surtout en RDC,nous lui demandons aussi de l’appui materiels et financier aux membres.Pour eviter la discrimination,l’exclusion et autre violation des droits de l’homme nous demandons à l’INEE de travailler directement avec ses membres pas d’intermediaire.

Happy 10th Anniversay INEE!  Over the past 10 years, INEE has really pushed the field of education in emergencies forward. In fact INEE is the key reason education in emergencies is considered a field/profession and a key reason why we think more about quality education as part of the first reponse for emergencies.

Congratulations!!! 10 years is a great age. In 10 years INEE has been able to make history and some great achievements, yet is young and has lots of energy and opportunities for future activities. I remember very well the Minimum Standard launch in 2004 in Cape Town, which was my first meeting with INEE. That was the start of a great journey where I learned a lot and met so many inspiring and professional and knowledgeable people. Later on I was privileged to work with the Steering Group and to participate in the Global Consultation in Istanbul.
I wish the whole network a happy anniversary and am looking forward to follow INEE for the next 10 years.

I hope the Network will foster further cooperation between different partners and stakeholders, and I also wish it will organize more regional and international activities which are open to a wider range of participants and activists in this field.

A very Happy 10th Anniversary to INEE!!
My dream is that INEE becomes and Education and Emergency “household” name in all spheres. And that is where we are head with its great evolution over the last 10 years!
