The Humanitarian Section in Save the Children Norway (SCN) supports Save the Children International’s delivery of humanitarian response through funding, surge deployments, advocacy and technical expertise. We work globally in sudden onset emergencies and protracted crises, and also support Disaster Risk Reduction and programming for longer term solutions for affected populations.
Education in Emergencies
Education in Emergencies is a key focus area for Save the Children Norway (SCN). In order to strengthen our ability to provide quality technical support to education responses we are currently expanding our Education in Emergencies team with an experienced and dynamic Roving Education advisor who will be deployed to support Save the Children Country Offices, the Global Education Cluster and UNHCR on new or longer-term emergency responses worldwide.
Roving Education in Emergencies Advisor/Programme Manager
The Roving Education in Emergencies (EiE) Advisor/ PM will play a critical role in designing and implementing quality education programming in Save the Children’s humanitarian responses worldwide. While deployed, the EiE Advisor/PM may be asked to take on a variety of advisory, coordination and/or management responsibilities, including conducting assessments and designing strategy, developing proposals for funding, troubleshooting implementation, building and managing teams, leading representation and coordination for Save the Children International’s EiE programs and conducting trainings for staff and stakeholders. While not deployed the EiE Advisor/PM will work closely with both the Humanitarian and Education teams in Oslo. He/she will support program development, backstop SCN programs in the field and contribute to SCN’s key strategic initiatives for EiE.
20% Oslo (or home) based 80% field based.
