ChildFund International’s work for infants and young children (IYC) aged 0-5 focuses on ensuring improved nutrition, health, safety/protection and early stimulation/early learning experiences.  ChildFund International is currently developing a Global Responsive Caregiving and Caregiver Well-Being Program Model and will be developing a related forthcoming research agenda that examines, amongst other topics, linkages between responsive caregiving programs and child protection.



To support the development of the global program model and identify evidence-based best practices, ChildFund is mapping former and existing internal organizational early childhood development initiatives and compiling both internal and external resources for best practices in early childhood development and child protection, particularly identifying resources with a focus on responsive and protective caregiving and caregiver well-being.

  • Support the ongoing mapping of ChildFund's internal early childhood development-focused programs by continuing the initiated mapping of current and past ECD initiatives using ChildFund’s internal database; SharePoint site; and remote consultations with country offices, as needed;
  • Supporting the compilation of documentation on ChildFund’s past and current ECD initiatives, including best practices and lessons learned, with a specific focus on responsive and protective caregiving and caregiver well-being initiatives;
  • Support internal Early Childhood Development Knowledge Management processes such as identifying most recent ECD resources and supporting them being uploaded to the internal Sharepoint site; supporting the uploading country-office relevant materials to Sharepoint; and supporting compilation of quarterly internal ECD digest; and
  • Reviewing and editing ECD case studies on ChildFund’s ECD work.

  • Current student in a graduate-level program in International Comparative Education, International Development, International Relations, Social Work, Master’s of Public Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working in a development or humanitarian setting; international early childhood development, education or child protection experience desired
  • Experience conducting research and report writing required; academic or professional writing sample required if shortlisted.
  • Fluency in English reading, writing and speaking required; Knowledge of French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese desired
  • Available to work 10-20 hours a week; days and times TBD
