Education in Emergencies at WHS 2016

The first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) will be held in Istanbul on 23-24 May 2016. The purpose of this summit is to set a forward-looking agenda for humanitarian action to collectively address future humanitarian challenges.     This panel will explore the practical challenges that need to be met and the steps to be taken to ensure the provision of sustained quality education in an emergency, most specifically in light of the launching of the Education Cannot Wait Fund at the WHS.

    The panel will address the challenges outlined in the first panel and will look at concrete examples of delivering education in emergencies on the ground and the ways in which new techniques and innovation have supported this delivery. It will address the question, “what works, what lessons have we learned, and how we can further strengthen education program delivery in emergencies”?
