Cross-sectoral approaches to mitigating fragility and conflict
In the new strategic plan for 2011-2013 to be released on 12 April 2011, INEE will focus on cross-sectoral approaches specifically through a Core Initiative to “promote policies, practices and programs that build stronger, more effective links between education and other sectors in humanitarian contexts.” In this regard INEE is exploring now future activities on cross-sectoral engagement.
UPCOMING EVENT: Panel on “Education and Health in Protracted Crises” at World Conference on Humanitarian Studies (2-5 June, Medford, USA)
INEE and the Health and Fragile States Network will facilitate a panel session entitled “Education and Health in Protracted Crises” at the Second World Conference on Humanitarian Studies, organized by the International Humanitarian Studies Associational (IHSA) and hosted by Tufts University, Medford, USA (in collaboration with Harvard University, Columbia University and the Social Science Research Council).
During the panel session, INEE and HFSN will each share the latest findings on the roles of each education and health in crisis and fragility. The panel will be comprised of presenters of papers on subthemes to this panel topic who will contribute to the dialogue.
